The "BOOfords" and other Halloween preparations....

It was a night of pre-Halloween preparations around here... finishing touches on costumes & make-up, pumpkin carving and pumpkin seed roasting. Drew's pumpkin wins the award for most creative! He carved "The Boofords" on his. Will post tomorrow about all the Halloween festivities!

A look at Halloween's past.....

After searching & searching through my photos, here is a look back at a few costumes of Halloween past. Some were used over and over and are in tatters now.... they were well loved!

Very cool... and it was free!

Check out Macy's new ski helmet by Smith! This is the bonus of Flashpoint being located where it is - ski helmet designers are in the office right below us and they like to get rid of season's past gear for free! Macy likes this helmet because it looks like it's made by Roxy rather than Smith. She is a little worried that it won't go with her blue ski jacket (it will!), but hey, free is free! Carter gets to pick out hers next!

This mornings activity....

For some reason, Macy decided to get up at 5:15 this morning with me. We had some time to kill before going to school so we watched "The Bride of Frankenstein." Such a classic!! Macy had never seen it before and thought that the "Bride" was hillarious!!! Me too!

Our Week in Pictures....

After WEEKS of making plaster face molds for Macy's class Halloween art project, this is the end result.....
My "Mummy" example...
Macy's "Corpse Bride" example....
The class created lots of Witches & Zombies...
Bride's of Frankenstein, Devils and Vampires... and a few, well, you just can't really tell what some of them are......
Our latest backyard visiter seeking refuge from the Rednecks with guns....
Patriotic posters I made for Fiona (which cost a bundle to ship overnight to New Orleans!)....
And finally, flu shots for Macy & me! (A bummer for Macy who had to go to Nutcracker Rehearsal right after, and couldn't even move her arm! I won't do that to her next year!) And Hooray for Carter, she survived all her tests and presentations this week and got "A's" on everything!!!!

It was a "Corpse Nightmare"....

As promised, Carter, Macy & Parker made an adventurous trek to the "Corpse Nightmare" in St. George. There was much anticipation and nerves before the outing, and even more nerves standing in line. I waited outside hoping to snap some photos of the kids being chased out by the chainsaw wielding psycho, but all I got was Carter collapsing to the ground. Unfortunately (or fortunately for her), Macy bailed halfway through - it proved a little much for her nerves this time around, but Carter and Parker made it to the end apparently after shouting right back in the faces of the haunted house workers... I think a good time was had by all, but Macy thinks she will go with Hudson & Granna & Tompa to a movie next time and just skip the Corpse Nightmare all together! Carter and Parker, it's up to you two to carry on the Halloween tradition! The Entrance.....
A little scared before piling in the car....
Being a little crazy....
Macy's not quite sure about this.....
Carter crashing out of the haunted house....
Some "Golden Spoon" after the scary experience!

And we're off....

to St. George for some warm weather and fun in the sun! Oh, and the kids want to go to "Corpse Nightmare" again so they can be chased around by some crazy guy with a chainsaw! Sounds fun doesn't it?.....

She's a happy girl!

Finally! After hours of babysitting, Carter saved up enough money to purchase an iPod Touch. She was hoping for an iPhone, but unfortunately she's locked in a T-Mobile plan for the next year. So the saving will continue until enough funds are earned (and a plan expired) so that the dream of an iPhone can become a reality! I'm just so grateful that she's learned the value of a dollar and that she appreciates the things she has (not an easy thing living in PC with a lot of rich and spoiled kids)!

I came across this today...

BALLET WEST held Nutcracker children’s auditions today. The proceedings were held at the University and Artistic Director Adam Sklute presided. Cati Snarr was the big organizer and she had tremendous help from Academy Director Peter Christie, Wardrobe Supervisor Jacquelin Bryce, Ballet West member Heather Thackeray (who has danced almost every child’s part in the production,) Ballet West 2 members Jenna Herrera and Sarah Blodgett, Academy student Sarah Barber and many more! TV cameras were there as well as over four hundred auditioners. It was a grand time and on behalf of BALLET WEST, thank you to all who participated.
