And there was much rejoicing! Carter has now been accepted in to Honors English for next year! Now we are awaiting the results of the math placement test and she can complete her registration for 9th grade! Hooray!

Science Fairs & Crazy Hair!

It's been a CRAZY week around here for everyone, from client meetings down south, to math placement tests & busy days at work! Macy's week consisted of the JRES 5th Grade Science Fair last night & Crazy Hair Day today at school! The science fair went well, but unfortunately their 2nd judge was a bit MENTAL and failed to ask them questions about their project - so they were a little caught off guard. So sad because their "Mummification of Apples" was a really good project and people loved their presentation. Better luck next time (and hopefully a better judge!). The students did get to blow off some steam at school today with their annual Crazy Hair Day. Macy's "Do" consisted of sleeping in thousands of sponge rollers, then ratting out the curls and adding pipe cleaners with a twist. She is now at dance with this huge pony tail struggling to stay in her hair. Needless to say we are not looking forward to brushing it out tonight!!!! But she had a fun day so it was well worth it!Sierra, Macy & Kenzie setting up their project.

Carter was accepted in to Honors Biology for next year! Way to go Carter! Now we need to find out about Honors English & Math. We'll keep you posted!

And Carter couldn't be happier! For the record, let it be noted that "I Hate Painting!" Love the result - hate doing it. But then isn't there anything that we won't do to try and make our kids happy?

Such a headache.....

and it ended up not being worth the trouble! Last night I enlisted Carter's help in applying for the Park Silly Market for this summer. After spending what felt like hours trying to resize photos (at least 25) and uploading them, I start the application process and they only ask for 5! Geeeeezzz, what a drag! Oh well, the application has been submitted and we'll just have to wait and see if we are accepted... Thanks for all your help though Carter! I really appreciated it!

V-Day Party at School.....

Macy had her very last Valentine's Party at school yesterday. There was the usual craziness of classmates amped up on sugar and her teacher trying to keep everyone in control. Trisha and I were trying to figure out why we seem to be the only two parents that ever show up to help.... The school had a great fundraiser where the kids could donate a dollar and vote for which Disney character they would like to have Mr. Kennan, the Principal dress up as on Valentine's Day. Let's just say that "Tinkerbell" visited each classroom and handed out Candy Pixie Dust! (How GREAT is this Principal!)These were Macy's Valentine's which had candy clipped to the back.

Macy made me lunch the other day - a veggie burger with fries and ketchup. It was delicious!Then we topped it off with a slice of this mushroom cake. Also delicious! (We've been watching waaaayyyyy too much "Ace of Cakes!")

Do you know what I can't stand?

Those SCARY movie trailers they insist on showing on TV during the hours in which children are still awake, therefor making the bedtime ritual that much longer because you are continually reassuring them that "there's no such things as ghosts" for at least ten minutes before you can shut off the light. Makes me crazy! There, I'm done.

A Look at Last Night's Performance...

with London's Royal Ballet School. Everyone had a great time and performed really well. We were all shocked and amazed by the talent of the Ballet School's students - High School age and dancing like they had been professionals for years! Something for Macy to aspire to for sure!

London's Royal Ballet tonight! Macy's class was chosen to perform with this company, and they are very excited and honored to have been chosen. Will post pics tomorrow!

and this Japanese animation show always seems to put a smile on Carter's face... even after a long and trying day of "Teen-hood." Like I say, what makes her happy, makes me happy!
