Look what Carter got! Look what Carter got!!!!!
A 7 out of 7 on her IB MYP project!!!! (MYP stands for Middle Years Project). She will now receive her International Baccalaureate Certificate, which means she is one step closer to STANFORD! She only has to complete 10 more hours of community service which won't be a problem seeing as though she completed 103 hours alone last summer. I had the opportunity to speak with the IB coordinator the other day, and she had nothing but praise for Carter and her project, and could definitely feel Carter's love of her special needs friends coming through in her presentation. They would like for her to present her project at Ecker Hill Middle School now (where Macy currently attends) because that is where this certificate program begins. So exciting! Drew and I are so proud of her!!!! Way to go Carter!
These kids truly are her extended family :)

Hahahahaha.... Another Sundance Funny!
Subject: Top Ten Reasons Sundance is Hilarious...
1) D-listers, A-listers, PIBS and Furries having no idea how to get around in a snow storm... hence, they fall down A LOT!
2) "Stars" arguing with LOCALS about what movies/shows they've "starred" in...
3) People riding the free bus with their 10 grocery bags to their hotel that is ten feet away.
4) LOCALS only parties that don't allow LOCALS...
5) People who come to a ski town and then complain that it's snowing...
6) Men in really, really tight pants and puffy hats...
7) "I'm a LOCAL because I come here every year for Sundance..." attitude.
8) Standing in line for an hour to get into a film and then being told the film was over-sold, but feel free to use your $15 ticket at the local theatre and see a film after Sundance is over...
9) Robert Redford... what is he 150 now? (Sorry about that one Uncle Bob)
10) $65 to get into the Joan Jet show at Harry O's... didn't she play at the Canyons last year for free?

Christmas continues...
Trisha and I decided that this year we would have our kids exchange ornaments as presents. Due to spending the holiday in Florida, I got a little behind on this task (but it's not just me, Trisha is just as busy so the fact that we haven't gotten together yet is not completely my fault). So I decided I better set aside some time this weekend to get these ornaments made, and WhaLaaa! Here they are! I am really pleased with the result!
This is Sissy's on the backside...
And James's on the backside...
I used my usual medium of paper mache, and tried to personalize them as best I could.
Soooo... Sissy's is all about dance, American Girl dolls and skiing. And James's is all geared towards skiing since that is what he lives and breathes each day.
I really hope they like them! And I really hope we find the time to get together to make the exchange too!

It's that time of year... again....
The time when you avoid going in to town at all costs!
When you're so grateful that your office is located in the junction!
When you cross your fingers and pray that these "out of towners" don't bring their bacterial infections with them therefore making all the townies flood the health clinics when they rather be skiing!
You get the idea.....
On the other hand, I did get a call from Carter yesterday day saying she would be at the bus stop sooner because school was getting out earlier due to Sundance and all the traffic/parking issues. Lucky High Schoolers!
And if you choose to brave the Main Street chaos, you might even spot a "Star" or two, if you're into that kind of thing....

Back in the thick of it...
Dance competition season that is.... things are starting to get busy and Macy is dancing just about every single day now. That's okay though, she LOVES it! And I love the fact that she can dance that much and still remain on the Honor Roll at school. Let's hope it stays that way through High School!
Here's a look at her goofing off on pointe...

Roller Coaster Vomit Dodge...
Otherwise known as out trip to Busch Gardens! Luckily we didn't have to dodge any vomit, but I have to admit after my fifth ride on one of the roller coasters, I sure felt like I needed to! A sure sign that I am aging. I used to be able to ride everything at Lagoon ALL DAY LONG and not even be phased - not any more. My favorite ride of the day: the Tidal Wave that suspended you upside down for at least 5 seconds, allowing just enough time for all the blood to rush to your head and want make you want to pass out. Thanks Carter! That one was fun! My sinuses thank you too!
Our favorite part of the day had to be feeding the birds. You didn't know wether to be amazed by them, or threatened as they came swooping down at you for a bite to eat. And true to it's name, the gardens were beautiful!
The Bedford women..
The Bedford girls & dad...
One of the many garden sculptures..
Roller coaster in the early morning light..
and in the afternoon...

A look at the white tiger...
My favorite animal shot of the day!
A little sugar to help the body keep going...
Macy's rather intimidating lunch (and a vegitarians dream come true)!
Last pic as we head out the door...
Such a fun day! Unfortunately we were so tired from trekking around the park all day, we were unable to ring in the New Year... Oh well, it was worth it!
