A look at her Solo...
Here is a look at Macy competing her solo last Saturday. I have not purchased any of these photos yet, hence the watermarks, but I think you can still catch a glimpse of how great she looked!

A Dress Rehearsal, Competition & Bling!
Just another day in the life of a dancer - and a look at what that entails...
Macy had a dress rehearsal on Friday night & a competition yesterday. I am happy to report that everything competed received either High 1st or 1st Place finishes, including her solo! She came home with a 1st Place Medal, Category Winner ribbon & Judges Award for "Fabulous Fluidity!" She did great and we are very proud of her!
A look at the winning Bling! The "Shrine" just keeps on growing!
"Don't Touch Me Now" - This is Macy's hip Hop costume (I pointed her out so you can recognize her, hard to do under those Gangsta Hats). I think my favorite part of this 6 piece costume is the gold sequined shoes :)
"Tore My Heart" - Here she is trying to get into this 8 piece costume (that's right, 8 pieces!), but they look really great and are fantastic with the music and moves. One of my favorite dances for sure!
Here is another view...
"The Wall" - or the "Avatar" costume as they are now called, (I wonder why?....). This costume is 5 pieces plus 8 finger lights and definitely the hardest for Macy to put on.... trying to get all her hair under that wig has been challenging, but she has it perfected now. The only worry - making sure everything stays on and in place while performing! Not an easy task...

"Feels Like Home" - The easiest costume by far! 3 pieces and she's off! This is a very pretty lyrical dance that is joyful to watch :)
"The Requiem" - Ballet costume... leaves a trail of glitter wherever they go! Carter would have loved the little girl in the doorway! She was so cute and LOVED watching all the dances performed!

I'm glad I only have to keep track....
of these 6 costumes and all their accessories, and not actually have to go out there and perform in them... that's Macy's job!
Let's see... we have a contemporary jazz costume, a lyrical jazz costume, a jazz production costume (complete with finger lights and electric blue bob wig), a hip hop costume, a ballet costume and finally a solo costume....
And here is the list of costumes and their accessories that go with them. All Macy has to worry about is getting dressed, I have to make sure I give her the right accessory with the right costume & then make sure it gets back in the right place. I think we are going to be exhausted by the end of the day tomorrow (mostly Macy though with all that dancing)! Wish her luck!
(Carter gets to stay home and sleep & nurse her cankered mouth from all of her end of 3rd quarter stress...)

Competition season begins next Saturday & Macy has been putting in A LOT of hours at the dance studio in preparation. Here's a look at what she has been up to... And she has been "UP" a lot.... :)

We ALMOST made it skiing....
... we got dressed, packed up the ski gear and headed towards Deer Valley.... and then we got to the parking lot... and there was no parking... anywhere... except out on the street, past the family condo compound... almost all the way to the Stew Pot. So we thought we would take a chance and head over to Deer Crest and park... that lot was full... and so was the street. We decided that smart locals don't ski on Saturday's, especially when it's spring break for everyone else, everywhere else.
So... we came home and went sledding instead! And had just as much fun! We also decided that we need to pull Carter & Macy out of school for a day and take them skiing - when hopefully most of the tourist are gone!

She made the Front Page!

Here's Carter standing proudly (hehehe) next to her science fair project display - which she won an Honorable Mention for, which is pretty good since she only spent about an hour on it.... :)
