Releve Dance Comp Wrap-up!

We just came back from an exciting weekend spent in Mapleton at the Releve Dance Competition. Macy's solo & duo did extremely well, and Dance Tech Studios completely dominated! Every award except one, was given to DTS (it was almost embarrassing - I felt bad for the other studios), but they earned it because they were awesome! Below are photos of the weekends festivities, the hardware won and the celebration that followed :0)

Such a fun, crazy & exhausting weekend all wrapped up in one! Macy did an amazing job as usual! Thanks to family & friends for coming and supporting Macy too!

I love this headband! I love this headband because it was a custom order by a young woman for her grandmother who is currently battling cancer. Her family is throwing an anniversary party for her grandparents and she wanted something for her grandmother to wear in shades of yellow, white and gray which is the color theme of the party. She then asked me if I would make a flower lapel pin for her grandfather so they could match. I was so happy to do this for her, and am really hoping she will be happy with the finished product, and that her grandmother will love it too!

There is a story behind this custom order, and I can't wait to tell you about it when it's done :)

My work in progress....

"Maisey!" She is going to come complete with her own paper mache hair clips that are removable and can be worn by the little girl that purchases her. My only problem is that I can't sew, so it's taking me a while to complete her...

Hopefully one day she will be finished!

This is how I know spring is coming!

This big sheet of snow/ice starts doing the BIG slide off the roof. And you should hear the nosie it makes when it finally goes!!!

... Carter loves all things Asian, sushi is her favorite food, she wants to live in Japan and have/adopt asian babies... well I just came across a couple of cuties!

In a few years I think she should travel to Asia and find them :)

This Weekend's Spoils :)

We had a very successful Saturday at the Starpower Dance Comp! Here's how it played out:

Be Italian Duo: 1st Place
Overall High Point Winner! Cash Prize :)

(We were very excited because they actually beat the trio dance comprised of their studios top three dancers! It was an awesome moment! Kirsten and I are very proud!)

Welcome to Mystery Solo: 2nd Place
7th Place High Point Winner Overall!

We were expecting 2nd Place in this category (so no surprise there) because Macy had to compete against a girl from her studio who is now competing on television dance shows and is someone who we knew would be hard to beat. But she still did awesome ! Again, I am very proud!

We will do it all again in two weeks :)

And a BIG thanks to Carter for her support, company, prop carrying assistance and awesome work ethic! You impressed A LOT of people!

How cool is this!

Okay, maybe it's only cool if you're into True Blood (which I am!), but I can't wait for the next season to begin!
