She is 13 years old today! I can't believe she is a teenager already!

The Last Dance Comp of the Season...

(I don't know if I'm happy or sad?)....

And Macy was awarded these fabulous prizes! (And no, it's not the bag of Skittles...)

She and Kenzie took 1st Place in their duo again! Hooray!!! They each received a 1st Place Diamond Award trophy and Tiara - which Macy promptly put on and started in to her "Toddlers & Tiaras" pageant routine :) These trophies are pretty cool because they actually put the dancers name on them!

Macy received 2nd Place in her solo because judges just can't seem to score/appreciate any routine that isn't all bubbles and smiles (big BOO here)! I thought she looked amazing and performed the routine the best she has all year! And I'm not being biased here, but I think she was the prettiest girl that performed all night! She has such an amazing dance presence on stage! She received the "Ruby" trophy for that win.

The team competition had it's usual ups and downs, and "That dance did NOT just win over ours? Right?" moments.... Dance Tech's Hip Hop routine did win an Overall Highpoint Award, and they each received a goody bag with a huge and very heavy glass trophy and a drinking cup filled with gumballs (yes cutesy awards is how they do it here in Utah!) We also had a really fun time watching one particular dance studio perform all their routines to all of Dance Tech's music from last year - complete with all of Dance Tech's dance tricks from last year! This happened 3 or 4 times throughout the day! Get original people! Toooooo funny!

Now it's a week of easy dancing, then rehearsals start for the end of the year recital, followed by rehearsals for Nationals in Vegas in July! Wahoo! Then Macy begins the process all over again for next year! But before that, I think Macy will do a little, biking, swimming, golfing and general goofing off! She's earned it!

These two lovely ladies deserve a huge thank you for tagging along to Macy's dance comps as a show of support! They endured endless bad dancing (from "other" studios), bad costuming (from "other" studios) and really bad song choices (again, from "other" dance studios)! All this when they actually decided to come in and watch.... :)

And I really hope they are enjoying those sunburns they got yesterday while they were napping on Taylorsville High's reflective sidewalks! >:0(

They Were Fierce!

And it showed! Macy and Kenzie took 1st Place in their duo category and 1st Place Overall in the teen division last night! I was unable to attend due to Carter having a nasty infection and I needed to be with her, but from what I hear, their duo was flawless! Even a wardrobe malfunction couldn't stop Macy from putting on an excellent show! I am so proud of these girls! They have worked so hard on this dance - having to be completely in sync while turning and cart wheeling over chairs is no easy feat, and they have done a superb job!

Look - they even eat in sync now :)

Thunderstruck Dance Comp :)

So we just had another weekend of long days, quick costume changes, lots of trophies and overall awards! And now Macy is run down and very sick >:0( We need summer! Soon!
