We are so proud of how hard she has worked this year, the stress, the tears, the anxiety... we are sure will result in the scoring of many a "5"!!!!!

Macy Won Big Last Night!

Even with a bum knee!!! (More on that later...)

She took a white diamond (the highest placement) for her "Skinny Love" contemporary solo, and a 6th Place Overall award for her "Rebel Girl" jazz solo. I am so proud! We paid a little visit to the doctor the other day to see why she was having more intense knee pain than the common growth plate pain issues she has been having for months. We found out that the bump on her knee cap is what they call "Calcific Tendonitis" and as you may have guessed is caused by repetitive/overuse of an area - her knees. (But I must say, Macy's side leap is AMAZING!!!) So now she wears a brace to isolate the knee and help with the inflamation, lots of ice after dance and ibuprofen. So long story short, we are so happy with her awards last night because she isn't dancing 100% right now. When the doctor asked when she will be able to rest it for a few good weeks I said, "Well, let's see... she has 2 more competitions, 2 performances, a recital, auditions and then a week or two of dance camps...." he rolled his eyes at me..... :) Great Job last night Macy!!!
