Who does this???

This took place two day ago during the Tour, and i'm still shocked every time I see it...

Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.

That driver needs to be fired, fined & locked up!

The fact that both of these riders got back on their bikes, continued to race and cross the finish line (while bleeding, needing stitches and serious medical care), is a testament as to why these cyclists are the worlds best athletes and the the Tour de France is the greatest athletic event to ever be held!

Congratulations Carter!

She just got one these on her AP World History test!
Only 3% of students in the nation score a "5" on their AP test, and now Carter is included in this prestigious club!
Hooray! we are so proud of you girl! You're one step closer to starting college as a sophomore!

Okay... This was so FABULOUS!!!

Macy, Carter and I had a great day at the ParkSillySunday Market this past Sunday - tourists are in full bloom, sales were good and our spirits were lifted. I had been checking my emails throughout the day and noticed that my online sales were pretty good for the day as well. When I got home to check on my online shop, I noticed that our shop had been "Favorited" by many people, as well as many of our items having been hearted as well. I checked our visitor tally and at 5:30 in the evening and our shop had had 1988 hits! My mind was blown! After searching the internet for any indication as to why this was happening, I couldn't find anything... no social mentions, nothing. When I got up the next morning I received an email from Kimberly of the TomKat Studio (check out her website, it is FABULOUS!), telling me that she had featured me on her facebook page. I am a vendor on her site, hence the feature, but needless to say, I was/am thrilled! TomKat Studio has over 26,000 facebook fans so the exposure to our shop was incredible!!! I love surprises like that! We ended the day with a total of 2,034 visitors and 19 shop hearts! Happy day!

Dr. Tom & Beautiful Mia

This is Tommy (or Dr. Tom), and his daughter Mia. I'm sure you have heard me talk about Dr. Tom. He is my dentist. My fabulous, caring, exceptional dentist. If you know me, you know the issues I have with my mouth, and how wonderful Dr. Tom has been in trying to resolve those issues with me. He is someone important to me. A necessary part of my life.

He is also important to Drew. Tommy has been Drew's college roommate, big, big brother in Sigma Chi, climbing buddy and all around long time good friend. We love this guy and we love his family. A LOT!

Meet Miabella. She is Tommy's 12 year old daughter. She excels in martial arts, plays the trombone, loves her little brother Eli and is kind to everyone. Mia was a very healthy girl, until one week ago. She was rushed to Primary Children's Hospital with what Tom and Heidi thought was dehydration. They thought after a few IV's she would be hydrated and off they would go. That has not been so. A virus had attacked Mia's heart. We learned on Thursday evening that Mia needs a heart transplant. This is so scary, and my heart is hurting for them. Because I am such a worrier by nature, at the end of everyday I say a little prayer of gratitude that my kids are healthy and safely tucked into their beds. We made it through another day and I am so thankful. Even though I try my hardest not to take Carter and Macy for granted, I find myself loving them even more. Why is it that something scary likes this makes us appreciate things more when we should already be appreciating them everyday?

I am sharing this story with you in hopes that you will say a prayer for Mia, that she will receive the heart that she so needs, and that she will be healthy again. And I hope that you will say a prayer for Dr. Tom, and Heidi and Eli, that they can remain strong and positive in these trying days. They need to be surrounded by all the positive energy and love that they can be right now.

Thank you!

The Last Dance Comp of the Season...

(I don't know if I'm happy or sad?)....

And Macy was awarded these fabulous prizes! (And no, it's not the bag of Skittles...)

She and Kenzie took 1st Place in their duo again! Hooray!!! They each received a 1st Place Diamond Award trophy and Tiara - which Macy promptly put on and started in to her "Toddlers & Tiaras" pageant routine :) These trophies are pretty cool because they actually put the dancers name on them!

Macy received 2nd Place in her solo because judges just can't seem to score/appreciate any routine that isn't all bubbles and smiles (big BOO here)! I thought she looked amazing and performed the routine the best she has all year! And I'm not being biased here, but I think she was the prettiest girl that performed all night! She has such an amazing dance presence on stage! She received the "Ruby" trophy for that win.

The team competition had it's usual ups and downs, and "That dance did NOT just win over ours? Right?" moments.... Dance Tech's Hip Hop routine did win an Overall Highpoint Award, and they each received a goody bag with a huge and very heavy glass trophy and a drinking cup filled with gumballs (yes cutesy awards is how they do it here in Utah!) We also had a really fun time watching one particular dance studio perform all their routines to all of Dance Tech's music from last year - complete with all of Dance Tech's dance tricks from last year! This happened 3 or 4 times throughout the day! Get original people! Toooooo funny!

Now it's a week of easy dancing, then rehearsals start for the end of the year recital, followed by rehearsals for Nationals in Vegas in July! Wahoo! Then Macy begins the process all over again for next year! But before that, I think Macy will do a little, biking, swimming, golfing and general goofing off! She's earned it!

Carter & Mallory

These two lovely ladies deserve a huge thank you for tagging along to Macy's dance comps as a show of support! They endured endless bad dancing (from "other" studios), bad costuming (from "other" studios) and really bad song choices (again, from "other" dance studios)! All this when they actually decided to come in and watch.... :)

And I really hope they are enjoying those sunburns they got yesterday while they were napping on Taylorsville High's reflective sidewalks! >:0(
(Will they never learn?)

They Were Fierce!

And it showed! Macy and Kenzie took 1st Place in their duo category and 1st Place Overall in the teen division last night! I was unable to attend due to Carter having a nasty infection and I needed to be with her, but from what I hear, their duo was flawless! Even a wardrobe malfunction couldn't stop Macy from putting on an excellent show! I am so proud of these girls! They have worked so hard on this dance - having to be completely in sync while turning and cart wheeling over chairs is no easy feat, and they have done a superb job!

Look - they even eat in sync now :)

Have You Seen GOOGLE Today?

If you haven't, you really need to check it out! It is celebrating the Birthday/Anniversary of Martha Graham and Modern Dance. And, well, being the dance family that we are, thought it was a pretty cool graphic!
