It's a dirty job......

but it had to be done! Macy and I attacked her bedroom on Saturday with a vacuum and a BIG bottle of Lysol. Her wanting to rearrange her furniture was the perfect opportunity for a clean & purge. After spending the whole day on this project, we both feel better now!Where did all this stuff come from?...
Too many books! We're happy to say that many of them are being passed on to little cousins....
Really, were did all of this stuff come from?....
Carter wanting nothing to do with it! Her room is completely clean & organized!
So happy it's done and the change is good!

Christmas morn.....

Just a few photos of Christmas morning at the Bedford house. We would like to send out a big "Thank You!" to all family and friends for making this such a fun Holiday season! May 2009 prove to be a better year for everyone! The great unwrapping....
Carter quote, "When all my friends are running around with their new giant Plasma TV's for their bedrooms, I'm happy I got books!" Such a great testament to Carter's character (and brains!)
Macy's new GIGANTIC Nutcracker! She received 5 Nutcrackers total this Christmas.... hmmm.... wonder why?
A morning of sugar for breakfast coupled with a little "Harry Potter Clue" family game time....
The after-opening presents bliss.... time for a little nap....

Christmas Eve Craziness.....

Much fun was had on Christmas Eve as the family traded White Elephant gifts this year! That was the rule, only elephants were to be handed out, and boy, were there some good ones! For example, Macy's old tennis shoes, Reindeer Noses, a Pirate Eye Patch & Earring, small Christmas Trees complete with ornaments, and the best by far "Big Underpants! Thank you Uncle Devin!!!This is Macy sporting her "nuclear wedgie" in her big underpants given to her by Uncle Devin.....
Here is Carter sporting the same wedgie... I think she looks like an 80's aerobics reject....
Macy, Parker and myself modeling....
Carter and her "Don't Eat Yellow Snow" elephant.... Her face says it all!
Drew and his "beloved" Snowman Nutcracker! SO special!!!!

On Thursday night she crossed the Finish Line!

After what seemed like a MARATHON of rehearsals, costume fittings, pictures & performances, Macy is finally done with The Nutcracker! We are both very happy that she got to have the opportunity to experience such a professional dance environment at such a young age. So much so, that she would love to audition for the Ballet West Dance Academy at some point in the future. We are all so proud of her because it was such a huge commitment and she met it head on! No missed rehearsals, no missed performances or tardies! She did good! Below is a brief look back from audition day to last performance. Sorry about the blurry photos, my camera doesn't take good photographs of photographs....Her professional soldier portrait....

Happy that this is the last night of the dreaded "Top of the Head" bun!!!

A Shout Out to the Birthday Girl!

Have a really great day Suzy! We're not that old yet... well sort of not old yet...

You gotta love the memories!

My favorite part of the holiday season is when I get to pull out the box of Christmas ornaments, unwrap the tissue paper, and be inundated with memories! Funny how such small items can bring back such a huge wave of emotion! Here are just a couple of my favorites hanging on our tree...."Skiing Santa!" You can't live in the mountains and NOT have one of these!
Macy's "Polar Bear!" Big & fat! Just like we like 'em! The "Golf Ball Santa" hanging below him is pretty cute too!
Carter's "Tutu Penguin!" Comes with her own pointe shoes & wand too!
Of course the "Nutcracker Soldier".....
and "Mouse King!" Our tree wouldn't be complete without these! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

FINALLY!!! Performance Night!

After all these months of rehearsals, it is finally show time! We are all very excited for Macy! The soldiers with the Nutcracker Prince...
The BIG Mice!
Wind-Up Doll....
The Snowflakes...
Clara, a mouse & soldier on stage!

U.S. History Stroll....

Last night, we as a family had an opportunity to visit Carter's school and view all the U.S. History projects the 8th graders had been working long & hard on. Carter and her friends chose the "Salem Witch Trials" as their subject and spent countless hours researching, writing & putting together a very cool visual aid. As the parents roamed around the library, the students had to "present" their reports. Carter's group had a ton of information and pictures of the accused, and even had a couple of "hung" witches as well. They did a great job, but mostly it was fun to watch the 13 year old girls interact with the 13 year old boys.... need I say more?.....

Dancing at the schools...

Macy's only opportunity to dance in Park City's Nutcracker happened yesterday when they performed at three elementary schools. Not an easy task when the stages are incredibly small.... Incident #1: Umbrella breaking. Incident #2: Umbrella getting caught in the back curtains hindering turns. Incident #3: Gushing nosebleed right before performing at last school, which happened to be her school! Luckily no blood got on the costume and the performance was a success! Despite the small mishaps, she had a very fun day! Sigh of relief here......
