Silly Sunday #2....

Macy makes a new friend - Sophie the puppy!

I'm beginning to believe that every person in Park City owns a dog due to the fact that everyone walking up and down Main Street had a dog on a leash... (or in a purse as was the case for Sophie. Sophie the purse dog! That would make a great children's book! I'll have to think on that one some more...).

The lady in the booth 2 down from us "Bling's Hair" - using strips of tinsel. Of course she saw Carter and asked if she could do hers. Carter graciously obliged...

Sissy was Macy's assistant for the day, and also got blinged out...

Then it was Macy's turn. It was a day of golden and copper highlights, lots of sun and big profits! :)

Our 2nd attempt finally got us there!

So our trip to Sun Valley got off to a rocky start thanks to a blown fuel pump. After sitting in Snowville for a couple hours (I don't want to see a Flying J again for a while), a ride in a tow truck and a big rescue by Devin & Amber (we owe you guys!), we got a rental car and the next morning made it to Sun Valley. It was worth it! I was so happy to see that very little had changed since my youth, and it was like going back home again. Memories came flooding back and it was fun to walk down memory lane. Everyone had a great time. We biked, swam, ice skated, shopped, ran and ate lots & lots! Good times :)

Here's a look at our adventure...

Finally made it!...
... after being broken down for hours!
A little surprised to see snow when we arrived :( Just kidding - only a blooming tree dropping petals.
Sooo great to be out of the car!
Macy dancing on the amphitheater stage. You know, when there's a stage, you just gotta dance! This theater was the only change in the village.
Posing with a "Local"....
The Anderson family compound! Oh the memories :)
Carter not psyched about skating....
Macy loving it!
When you cartwheel into the pool.....
... your face can end up looking like this >:( Macy had a slight run in with the bottom of the pool and ended up peeling part of her face off. Not a fun thing to do at the beginning of a trip!
Backyard wildlife...
These baby birds were nesting on a light fixture on our deck. We really stressed out the poor mommy bird each time we walked out...
Drew & Macy taking off on a mountain bike ride.
Carter biking on the golf course... hehehehe...
Cruising around the village....
And I'm happy to report that the Toll Painted House is still there. I can't believe it after 20 years!
the "Pimp" mobile....
A quick game of chess before hitting the road....
Parting shot :0)

So I'm happy to report that everyone had a great time and really want to go back again soon! It's a good sign when tears are shed because you don't want to leave, right?

We're Off....

... to Sun Valley tomorrow for some R&R and a little walk down memory lane for me. This is a trip that I planned, and I really hope everyone has fun!

"Featured" in the Park Record!

They made the paper!

An awesome booth promotion by Macy & Carter! They were interviewed by the Park Record on Sunday, and we were crossing our fingers that their picture would make the paper and it did! We were hearing rumors throughout the day that word was spreading about our booth and how cute our merchandise was, so it's really great to be featured! Now maybe we'll get a few more customers!

A Silly Sunday Market :)

We finally did it! We had our very first Silly Sunday Market! And despite the cold temps at 8:00 a.m. and the hail storm at 4:00 p.m., people did come out and buy from our booth. I am happy to say that we reached our $$$ goal, and the money is now safely tucked away. A few more sunny, warm days and we should have a nice chunk-o-change in our pockets! All in all, it was a great experience and we are looking forward to our next Sunday in 2 weeks. So if you happen to be in Park City that day, stop by and say "Hi!"

Working the booth!
A very COLD Carter...
And a very COLD Macy! She couldn't feel her toes for most of the day... what is up with the weather?
A look at the booth....
Making some sales!
Our Paper Mache flowers....
Our "New" headbands ;)

Another Dance Year Comes To An End....

I can hardly believe it? Where did that year go? Endless classes, rehearsals, 6 dance competitions - all shot by at wicked speed! The dances were all awesome, high point winners, judges choice award winners - including Macy's solo! It's hard to say goodbye, but I can't wait to see what Dance Tech comes up with next year! And if the solo that Macy & I have envisioned comes to pass, it will be awesome!!!!

Here's a look at the crazy recital rehearsal :)

Such a fun night! Happy, sad, relieved and so impressed with the improvement in her dance! Look out SYTYCD! She's a coming!

9th Grade STAR!

Carter received some much deserving recognition at the TMIS 9th Grade awards ceremony during the last week of school! She received a GOLD Certificate for her MYP Project that she did such an outstanding job on & she received the French Department Award for her excellence in learning/speaking the language! I thought she was worthy of all the awards presented and am so proud of how hard she worked this year and all that she achieved! The hard work paid off as she got another 4.0 for the quarter :)

The only bummer - she did not receive a peer-tutor award (the one she wanted most), due to a miscommunication between the Peer-Tutoring Department & French Department. Her face in this picture shows the disappointment! She did speak with her teacher about it, and she said that Carter was 1st on her list to get the award, but seeing as though she was getting the french award, they gave it to someone else to be fair.... I think that's a bunch of CR@#P and they should have given it to her anyway!

:)
