FINALLY!

After weeks of crappy weather, late nights and early morning dance competitions, I finally got outside this morning and ran in my brand new running shoes. These were a gift for mother's day from my family, and I just felt like I never had the opportunity to strap them on and hit the road - until this morning! They are awesome! So comfortable, grippy and there was no knee pain whatsoever! Now if I could only get the motivation to press the "Send" button on that PC Marathon application.....

Birthday Celebration!

What a great Birthday Macy had! It started off with the opening of the Birthday presents and receiving the "Mod Scooter" she had been asking for for a year, new dance clothes from Carter and some of those "Silly Bands" that are all the rage! Then she went to school where all her friends had decorated her locker (thanks Kenzie, you're awesome!)! Then home to surprise decorating from the Birthday Fairies (thank you Trisha & Sissy!) and a ride on the scooter, FINALLY! Awesome dinner at Hapa Grill, and then topping it off with chocolate cake! A great day!

Such a fun Birthday for Macy! Thanks for all the Birthday wishes!

Can't wait to see what the next year has in store :)

She is 12 already!!!!

And I can't believe it! Truly, where does time go? I have learned to appreciate every moment that I get to spend with her - watching her dance, be silly, get on her sister's nerves and just talk. She is a bright light in my life :)

Happy Birthday May! We love you tons!

Lost in 108 Seconds....

A synopsis for those of you that missed it :)

This just in....

I am proud to announce that "Team Jigglypuff" received Best Costume Award on Saturday and placed #20 out of 81 teams! Way to go Bonnie!

I was a "Jigglypuff" stand-in....

Okay so I was originally going to be on Bonnie's Jigglypuff relay team for the "Run with Ed" (PCSD Education Foundation) race, but then couldn't because I needed to be at a dance competition with Macy, but then that got rescheduled to last weekend soooo... Bonnie needed a stand-in for a relay member who couldn't be at the registration/safety check, and Drew volunteered me. Did you get all that? Anyway, I got to briefly wear one of Bonnie's fabulous Jigglypuff costumes, decorate the support van and have my picture taken - which I REALLY hope doesn't end up on the front page of the Park Record, but probably will due to Bonnie's popularity in this community and her outstanding sewing skills!

Queen Jigglypuff!
Jigglypuffs Danny, Senta & Bonnie!

I'll keep you posted on the Park Record pic.....

Since one of my FAVORITE shows is about to end....

(I am trying to hold back the tears as I type this...), I think I might have to splurge and buy myself this:

As a reminder of the awesomeness of the writing, characters & the beauty of Kauai!

QUEEN & Intermediate High Point Winner!

Macy and Dance Tech Studios knocked it out of the park again this weekend! Macy received the "Queen" award (complete with tiara) for her solo, and was the "Overall Intermediate High Point Winner!" I looked over the schedule and noticed that she had beat out 13 other groups of 3 - 5 dancers in each, to take the win! For her efforts and as a special honor, she got to perform her solo the next day during all the team competitions! She was great!

All Hail the Queen!
Look Tompa! Another one for the Shrine!
Score sheets & cash award for High Point win :)
Scheduling stage time to perform solo along with Jade & Allie!

As for her dances with her Jazzette group, they won the following awards:

Lyrical - Feels Like Home - 1st Place, Overall High Point
Contemporary - Tore My Heart - 1st Place
Hip Hop - Don't Touch Me Now - 1st Place, Judges choice for Best Choreography
Ballet - The Requiem - 1st Place, Judges choice for Best Technique & Best Costume
Jazz Production - The Wall - 1st Place, Judges choice for Best Showmanship and Best Costume

Such a great showing!

MYP Presentation Awesomeness!

On Tuesday morning, Carter was invited to share her MYP project (Middle Years Project) to the 7th graders at Ecker Hill Middle School (where Macy attends). The purpose of the presentation was to get students psyched about completing their own projects in 9th grade - whatever they may be. As you know, Carter's was all about her experiences as a peer tutor, and reflected the joy she gets from being with these kids. She was amazing! Very poised, not at all nervous and held everyone's attention throughout. As parents, we are so proud!

Of course, the NAC has contacted Carter about volunteering again this summer - they want her back! BAD!!!

I had my blog analyzed.....

... and this is the result:

I appear to not be much of a "deep thinker" but more of the "emotional & feeling" type...

The "Performers?" Where did they ever get that? (Hahahahaha...)

This weekends haul...

Macy's haul: She received a 1st Place on her solo, 1st Place in Jazz & Hip Hop & 2nd Place in Ballet. Her ballroom dances all took 1st Place, and were fun to see on a big stage. Only 2 more comps to go before the year end recital & auditions for next fall.... :)
Working that solo!
Carter's haul: A tonsil stone.... yep.... GROSS! Hope it doesn't come back! But her throat feels better now... (She deserves a trophy for putting up with that!!!)
And a big THANK YOU to Carter & Mallory for working the Arts-Fest booth for me... love you guys!
